Who is the best soccer player ever?
When I hear this question there are three players that immediately come to my mind: Pele, Maradona and Messi. Each person might have a different opinion about this general question and it will depend on your age, nationality and soccer style you like the best. If you ask to a Dutch, he will probably tell you that the best soccer player of all times is Johan Cruyff and if you ask to a Spaniard you might hear Raul. However, most people would agree that the 3 best players ever are Pele, Maradona and Messi, even the last one is still active, many soccer fans believe that he is already the best player of all times.
Pele and Maradona had different styles and different personalities, but there is not question that they both are in the top tree, the order in which you want to place those two it would depend on your preferences. There is not right or wrong and there is not really a number one and number two. I would place them both at the same level even I like more Maradona’s style.
I think that there is not question that Messi is the best player soccer in active, after winning four Golden Balls and all records that he has broken at only his 26 years of age, when this article is written. (2013)
